Project Overview
MINISO’s branch at Abraj Al-Bait Mall sits at one of the most visited retail destinations in the world steps from the Grand Mosque in Mecca, serving millions of visitors annually from across Saudi Arabia and beyond.
ArchSkills completed the full fit-out of this 220 m² store in 2024, delivering a brand-compliant, high-traffic retail environment built to MINISO’s global standards. The scope covered every element from structural partitions to final handover on schedule and within budget.
This project is part of a broader partnership with MINISO across 16 branches in Saudi Arabia, including locations in Riyadh, Jeddah, Taif, Khobar, Abha, Dammam, Al Ahsa, and Tabuk.
Design Concept
The store follows MINISO’s signature clean retail language — white-dominant surfaces, modular shelving, and a layout optimised for high footfall and easy product discovery.
Given the volume of daily visitors at Abraj Al-Bait, ArchSkills engineered the fit-out for durability alongside aesthetics. Circulation paths were carefully planned to accommodate peak traffic without congestion, and the storefront was designed for maximum brand visibility within the mall’s busy corridor.
Materials and Finishes
- Flooring: Large-format porcelain tiles — light tones, seamless grout joints
- Wall cladding: Painted gypsum board with recessed lighting niches
- Shelving system: MINISO-specified modular units, custom-cut and fitted on site
- Storefront: Frameless glazed facade with brand signage integration
- Ceiling: Suspended grid ceiling with integrated lighting tracks
- Joinery: Custom millwork for cash counter, product display islands, and storage
All materials selected to meet high-durability requirements and MINISO’s brand specification manual.
Lighting and MEP Works
The electrical and lighting design supports MINISO’s retail display strategy — even, shadow-free illumination across all product zones with accent lighting at focal displays.
Scope included:
- Full electrical installation and distribution boards
- LED track lighting throughout — warm white, CRI 90+
- HVAC connections and branch ducting
- Fire alarm system integration with mall infrastructure
- Data and POS cabling throughout
All MEP works coordinated with Abraj Al-Bait Mall management and delivered to building authority standards.
